Destin Fishing Museum

Exhibits

The Destin Fishing Museum has several exhibits that will grab your interest. First, you can see The Primrose. This seine fishing boat was built in 1925 and it is the oldest one of its kind that is still in existence. You can also look through antique rods and reels. Pay special attention to the original Penn Reel. It used to belong to Ernest Hemmingway.

In addition, the Destin Fishing Museum has an exhibit that depicts the different fish caught in Destin. You can look through the exhibit and see how many of those fish you have caught. Then, you can try to catch the ones that you haven’t caught yet. This is certain to be a fun challenge that will enhance your next fishing trip.

The Destin Fishing Museum also has some old photos you can look through. You can look at old boat captains, their vessels, and more. This will help you get a better idea of what life was like in the early days.

Admission

It doesn’t cost much at all to get into the Destin Fishing Museum. Adults only pay $5. Seniors and military get in for $4 while children aged 7 through college get in for $3. Children under 7 get in for free.
