While many newcomers expect Harry T’s Lighthouse Restaurant Destin to be boat themed, that is not the case. Harry T’s was created to honor Harrison Baben, a famous trapeze artist. Baben was known as “Flying Harry T,” which is where the restaurant got its name. After relocating to a lighthouse, the restaurant became known as Harry T’s Lighthouse Restaurant Destin. While the restaurant honors its lighthouse location with some memorabilia from a sunken ship, it is mainly decorated with items from the circus. Of course, the decorations are only a small part of why people come to Harry T’s. They also come for the food. Harry T’s has a variety of seafood options, including Seafood Macaroni and Cheese and Shrimp and Grits. Finally, the restaurant is the best place to see the sunset in all of Destin.
